Treatment specifics

Which massage is best for jet lag or post-flight fatigue?+

The Traditional Balinese Massage is ideal for travelers. It uses long strokes and skin rolling to boost circulation and release the tension built up during long-haul flights, helping you adjust to Bali time faster.

Do you offer deep tissue massage for athletes or surfers?+

Yes. Our Deep Tissue Massage is specifically designed for those with chronic muscle tightness or sports-related soreness. It uses firm, purposeful pressure to reach deeper muscle layers, making it a favorite for surfers and active visitors.

Can I book a group session for a villa party or event?+

Yes, we specialize in group bookings. We can send multiple therapists simultaneously to your villa for weddings, retreats, or family gatherings. We recommend booking group sessions at least 24 hours in advance.

How does the Body Scrub (Lulur) benefit my skin?+

Our Lulur scrub is inspired by royal Javanese beauty rituals. It exfoliates dead skin cells, improves skin texture, and leaves your body feeling silky smooth — perfect for maintaining a healthy glow during your Bali holiday.

Booking & services

Do you offer couples massages in Bali?+

Yes. Blissful Senja provides relaxing couples massage services in Bali for honeymooners, partners, friends, or family members. Our therapists can perform treatments simultaneously in your villa, hotel suite, or private accommodation, creating a comfortable spa experience without needing to visit a spa center.

Can I book a massage therapist to my hotel or villa?+

Absolutely. Our mobile spa therapists travel directly to hotels, villas, resorts, apartments, and private homes throughout Bali. Many guests prefer in-room massage services because they offer greater privacy, comfort, and convenience after long flights, tours, or beach activities.

Do you accept same-day bookings?+

Yes, we accept same-day and last-minute massage bookings depending on therapist availability, with two exceptions: Hot Stone Massage and Anti-Cellulite Massage must be booked at least one day ahead. We recommend contacting us via WhatsApp for the fastest response and real-time scheduling assistance.

Before you book

Do you come to hotels and resorts?+

Yes. We deliver to any hotel, resort or boutique property across Bali. Simply provide your hotel name and room number when booking and we will handle the rest. Our therapists arrive discreetly and fully equipped.

Can you come to an Airbnb or private villa?+

Absolutely — in fact, private villas and Airbnbs are where we do most of our work. You do not need a reception desk or concierge. Just share your address and any access instructions and our therapist will be there.

Which areas of Bali do you cover?+

We serve the entire island — Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu, Ubud, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta, Legian, Kerobokan, Berawa, Pererenan, Tegallalang and beyond. If you are unsure whether we reach your location, message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm immediately.

Can I book a massage for today?+

Yes, for almost everything on the menu. We recommend giving us at least 1–2 hours notice to ensure we can assign the right therapist, but we will always do our best to accommodate urgent requests. The exceptions are Hot Stone Massage and Anti-Cellulite Massage, which need to be booked at least one day ahead. For late-night sessions, a little more notice helps.

Can I book after midnight?+

Yes. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — including late-night and early-morning sessions. A night surcharge of Rp 50.000 applies to massage bookings that begin after 10 pm.

Can therapists come during rain?+

Yes. Rain does not affect our service. Our therapists travel to you regardless of weather. If you are staying in an open-air villa, we may suggest moving to a sheltered area — but we will always find a solution.

Do therapists bring their own towels and oils?+

Yes. Our therapists arrive fully equipped — professional massage oils, clean towels and everything else needed for your session. You do not need to prepare anything. Just provide a comfortable, reasonably flat surface such as a bed or yoga mat.

Choosing the right massage

Which massage is best after a long flight?+

We recommend the Balinese Traditional Massage. Long-haul flights cause fluid retention, poor circulation and muscle stiffness — especially in the legs, lower back and shoulders. The long flowing strokes and acupressure of a Balinese massage directly address these, restoring circulation and helping your body adjust to a new time zone faster.

Which massage helps most with jet lag?+

The Balinese Traditional Massage is the best choice for jet lag. It stimulates blood flow, eases the muscle tension caused by sitting in a pressurised cabin for hours, and promotes deep sleep — which is the single most effective remedy for jet lag. A 90-minute session in the evening after arrival works particularly well.

Which massage is best after surfing?+

Deep Tissue Massage. Surfing works the shoulders, rotator cuffs, lower back and hip flexors intensely. Our deep tissue technique uses targeted, firm pressure to release the specific muscle groups engaged during surfing — reducing next-day soreness and improving recovery speed.

Which massage is best after hiking — such as Mount Batur?+

Deep Tissue or Balinese Traditional, depending on your preference. For intense soreness and tight quads and calves after a demanding hike, Deep Tissue delivers faster relief. If you prefer something restorative and relaxing rather than firm, the Balinese Traditional is a gentler but equally effective option.

Which massage is best for tired, sore feet?+

Reflexology is specifically designed for this. It applies precise pressure to nerve points on the feet that correspond to different systems throughout the body — improving circulation, reducing swelling and relieving the localised soreness that comes from a full day of walking, beach trips or exploring Bali's markets and temples.

Which massage is best for office workers or digital nomads?+

The Balinese Traditional Massage addresses the most common issues for desk-based workers — tight neck and shoulders, lower back stiffness and eye strain headaches. If your symptoms are more severe (chronic neck pain or tension headaches from screen time), request firm pressure or upgrade to Deep Tissue. We can also combine with Facial Acupressure to target jaw and forehead tension.

Can I shower after a massage?+

Yes, but we suggest waiting at least 30–60 minutes. The oils used during your session continue to absorb and benefit the skin after the massage ends. A warm (not hot) shower afterward is perfectly fine.

Hot stone massage

What is a hot stone massage?+

Smooth basalt stones, warmed in water, used alongside ordinary hand massage. Some stones rest along the back while the therapist works elsewhere; others are held and glided through the muscle. The warmth softens tight tissue so the pressure can stay slow and deep without feeling harsh. Our guide explains what a hot stone session involves.

How much is a hot stone massage, and should I book 60 or 90 minutes?+

IDR 550.000 for 60 minutes or IDR 800.000 for 90 minutes, with no transport fee anywhere in Bali. Sixty minutes covers the back, shoulders and legs. Ninety is worth it for the full body at an unhurried pace, since warming each area properly takes longer than in a standard massage.

Why do hot stone and anti-cellulite massage need to be booked a day in advance?+

These are the only two treatments we cannot deliver same-day. Hot stone requires the stones to be heated before the therapist leaves, and the equipment travels separately from a standard massage kit. Anti-cellulite massage needs a therapist trained in that technique, and booking a day ahead also leaves time for any redness to settle before an event. Please book both by the day before. Every other treatment can usually be arranged with about two hours' notice.

How hot are the stones, and can they burn me?+

Stones are typically warmed in water in the region of 110-130°F (about 43-54°C) — warm enough to sink into the muscle, but cool enough for the therapist to hold comfortably, which is the standard safety check. The heat should feel soothing and never sharp. Tell your therapist at once if a stone feels too hot and it will be removed immediately.

Does a hot stone massage hurt?+

It shouldn't. The heat relaxes tight muscle first, so the therapist can work deeply without the strong, pinpoint pressure of a deep tissue massage. Most guests describe it as heavy and sedating rather than intense. If you want firm work on a specific knot, book deep tissue instead.

Who should not have a hot stone massage?+

Skip it, or check with your doctor first, if you are pregnant, have diabetes or nerve damage affecting how you feel heat, have circulatory problems, high blood pressure or a heart condition, have varicose veins in the area, an inflammatory flare-up, a fever or infection, or have sunburn, broken skin, a rash or a recent surgical site. Please tell us when you book so we can adjust or suggest an alternative.

Is a hot stone massage a strange choice in a hot climate?+

Not really. Most stiffness in Bali comes from air conditioning, long flights, scooter rides and surfing rather than cold weather, and the heat works on the muscle rather than the room. Evening sessions in an air-conditioned space suit it best. If you have been in the sun all day, check for sunburn first.

Anti-cellulite massage

What is an anti-cellulite massage?+

A firm, hands-on massage focused on the areas where cellulite usually shows — the thighs, hips and buttocks. The therapist uses warm oil, deep kneading, skin rolling and upward strokes to warm the tissue and move fluid. The aim is smoother, firmer-looking skin, not fat loss. Our full guide explains what anti-cellulite massage can and can't do.

Does anti-cellulite massage actually work?+

Yes, but only temporarily. Studies of manual massage have found slightly smaller thigh measurements after 10 to 14 sessions, but no visible improvement in the cellulite itself, and dermatologists note that the effect of massage-based treatments tends to fade within about a month of stopping. Expect a short-lived smoothing effect, not a permanent change.

Will one session get rid of my cellulite?+

No. A single session gives a temporary smoothing effect that is ideal before a specific day, and regular sessions keep that effect going. Cellulite is normal — it affects more than 85% of women after puberty, including very fit and lean women — and no massage can remove it permanently.

How much is an anti-cellulite massage, and should I book 60 or 90 minutes?+

IDR 700.000 for 60 minutes or IDR 950.000 for 90 minutes, with no transport fee anywhere in Bali and payment after the session. Sixty minutes covers the thighs, hips and buttocks properly; ninety allows a slower pace and can include the abdomen or upper arms.

Does anti-cellulite massage hurt or leave bruises?+

It is firmer than a relaxation massage, and skin rolling on the outer thighs can feel intense. Pink skin afterwards is normal and fades within a few hours. Tell us if you bruise easily or take blood thinners — the therapist can always reduce the pressure, and more pain does not mean better results.

How far before an event should I book an anti-cellulite massage?+

Anti-cellulite massage cannot be booked same-day. Please book at least the day before — not the morning of — which also gives any redness time to settle. If you bruise easily, book two or three days before your wedding, photo shoot or beach club day.

Who should not have an anti-cellulite massage?+

Skip it, or check with a doctor first, if you have varicose veins or a history of blood clots, take blood thinners, are pregnant, have sunburn, broken skin or a rash on the area, or have had recent surgery, liposuction or cosmetic injections there. If the fat on your legs is painful to touch and bruises very easily, ask a doctor about lipoedema before booking any firm massage. Please tell us about any of these when you book.

Anti-cellulite massage, maderotherapy or lymphatic drainage — which should I choose?+

Choose anti-cellulite massage for firm, hands-on work concentrated on dimpling on the thighs, hips and buttocks. Choose maderotherapy if you prefer strong, rhythmic pressure with wooden tools. Choose lymphatic drainage if your legs mostly feel puffy or heavy — it is very light rather than firm. The results of all three are temporary; if you are unsure, message us and we will recommend one.

What should I wear for an anti-cellulite massage?+

Wear underwear or swimwear you do not mind getting a little oil on. You stay draped with a towel except for the area being worked, and the therapist brings the oils and towels. Keep out of strong sun for the rest of the day and wait 30–60 minutes before showering.

During your Bali holiday

Can I book a massage after a Mount Batur hike?+

Yes, and we highly recommend it. The hike engages your quads, calves, glutes and lower back intensely — a Deep Tissue or Balinese massage the same evening or the following morning accelerates recovery significantly. Many guests book in advance for the evening after their hike.

Can I book a massage after a Nusa Penida day trip?+

Absolutely. The Nusa Penida trip typically involves a fast boat, steep cliff paths and a great deal of walking. Most guests return with sore legs, a stiff back and tired feet. A Reflexology or Balinese massage upon returning to Bali is the perfect way to recover before your next adventure.

Can I book a massage after yoga or a retreat?+

Yes. Massage and yoga complement each other well. A Balinese Traditional or Reflexology session after yoga deepens the relaxation response, helps release any residual muscle tension and enhances the meditative benefits of your practice.

Can I book a massage for a villa party or group?+

Yes. We specialise in group bookings. We can send 2–5 therapists simultaneously to your villa for birthday celebrations, bachelorette parties, retreat programmes or family gatherings. We recommend booking group sessions at least 24 hours in advance. Message us on WhatsApp for a custom quote.

Can I book a massage for my honeymoon or anniversary?+

Our Couple Massage is one of our most popular bookings for exactly this occasion. Two therapists arrive together and deliver a perfectly synchronised session — an intimate, private experience in your villa that no restaurant or spa outing can replicate.

Can I book a massage as a birthday surprise for someone?+

Yes. Many guests book as a gift for a partner or friend. Simply let us know it is a surprise in the notes field of your booking and we will coordinate the arrival time and any special details with you privately.

What are good rainy day activities in Bali?+

Bali's rain — especially during wet season — can catch visitors off-guard. A mobile massage is one of the best rainy day activities because it comes to you and turns a frustrated afternoon into a genuinely restorative one. Pair it with a good book, a bath and a room service meal for the perfect Bali staycation day.
